Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt donate $1 million to refugees
The donation was announced by the UN High Comission for Refugees, and Michael Gabaudian, UNHCR's Regional Representative for the US and Carribean, praised the couple's donation. As noted by the UN representative, the donation comes just months after Angelina Jolie visited the reufgee camp in Chad. The visit took place in late Feburary and was her third visit to the region.
More than 2 million people have been left homeless bye the conflict, and there are about 200,000 refugees on the border. After her last visit, Angelina Jolie was struck by the sense of hope she encountered and the desire for peace-keepers to be deployed.
