Thandie Newton, the British actress best known for her apparition in the Oscar-winning production Crash, has blamed Elizabeth Hurley for beginning the fame hungry celebrity trend.

Thandie considers that Elizabeth Hurley's apparition in 1994, wearing the Versace black plunging dress at the first showing of Four Weddings and A Funeral, started the increase in the number of fame seeking celebrities. Before that showing, Elizabeth was practically a nobody, known only for dating Hugh Grant.

Apparently, the Pursuit of Happyness star is longing for the old days, when being famous really meant you were good at something. In her opinion, now it's only about wearing fancy clothes and showing off.
