Thai actress Amy, by her real name Chotiros Suriyawong, has sparkled an intense debate in her country, after wearing a revealing black dress at Thailand's version of the Academy Awards.

The dress in question, an imitation of Elizabeth Hurley's Versace safety-pin dress, was long and split to the hip, with another wide slit traveling diagonally to her cleavage. It was deemed as inappropiate by the authorities and that it sent the wrong message to the young Thai audience.

As a result, university officials from the Thammasat University, where Amy is a student in her final year, decided to punish her with 15 days of community service.

Also, she appeared in a news conference, weeping, and apologized to the public. And one of the producer decided to delete all footage of Chotiros from his films.
