Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt spend Christmas with Colombian refugees
Along with Brad Pitt, she visited a number of small businesses set up by the refugees, with the help of micro-loans from the UN agency.
Three million people have been displaced for Colombia, victims of the on-going armed conflict in the country. 10,000 of them live in Costa Rica.
Angelina Jolie declared she was shocked that such a tragedy could go on, year after year, and be ignored by the rest of the world. The Oscar-award winning actress thanked the Costa Rican government for the support given to the refugees.

Since approaching the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in 2001, Angelina Jolie has been involved in many humanitarian actions across the globe.The star from Tomb Raider has visited around 20 countries, including Ivory Coast, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Lebanon or India. She is an active participant in the World Refugee Day, on 20th of June each year, hosting public events and speaking to the media.
As an acknowledgment for all her work, in 2005, Angelina Jolie was awarded the Global Humanitarian Action Award, from the UN Association of the USA and the Business Council of the UN.
